Silicone shieldings ensure both very good shielding effectiveness and environmental protection (IP). They are used to shield the housings of electronic devices both as EMI shieldings and as environmental protection or pressure sealing.
They can work in a wide range of temperatures, from -60˚C do + 200˚C and they are resistant to the harmful effect of the external environment. Silicone shieldings are mainly used in military equipment or equipment working in difficult conditions.
The shieldings are based on the following materials:
- conductive silicones – created by mixing silicones with conductive powders
- impregnated silicones – created by sinking metal wire mesh or wires in silicones
- coated silicones – created by covering silicone profiles with a conductive film.
This group also includes liquid shieldings obtained by mixing silicone pastes, adhesives or varnishes with conductive powders.
Silicone shieldings can be provided in the form of:
- conductive silicones sheets and profiles
- conductive silicones fabricated components
- metal impregnated sheets and gaskets
- surface coated silicones gaskets
- liquid shieldings.
